Make BIG MAC TACOS Safe for Most Allergies
|
Enjoy this allergy-friendly version of the famous Big Mac Tacos! These can easily be adapted to be top 9 allergen free! The version I made contained egg (Hellman’s mayo) and wheat tortillas. With simple swaps though you can make these to fit most allergies. We were surprised by how delicious these were. All five of us said they are a winner!

Vegan Mayo Recipe you can modify to be mustard free (contains soy): https://jessicainthekitchen.com/vegan-mayonnaise/
For Big Mac Tacos:
12-16 mini flour tortillas: I used “street taco” size (use gluten free if necessary)
2 pounds 80/20 ground beef. I’ll use 88/12 in the future. (You could sub other meat as well)
Salt and pepper to taste
Dill pickle chips (we LOVE Grillo’s Dill)
Shredded iceberg lettuce
Optional: 1/2 c. Of finely diced white onion (optional, but traditionally on a Big Mac)
Optional: American cheese slices if you aren’t allergic to milk or your favorite dairy-free cheese slices. We found this entirely unnecessary though as the sauce is so flavorful.
Dairy & Egg-Free Special Burger Sauce
Recipe by Erin | happilyeverallergy.com
Ingredients
- 1 c. Mayo: We love Hellman’s (Use vegan mayo for egg-free)
- 4 TBS pickle relish, drained. (Choose carefully if you have a mustard allergy)
- 3 TBS ketchup
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 TBS white vinegar
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp. Onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. Garlic powder
- pinch of White pepper
Directions
- Add all ingredients to a bowl or wide-mouth mason jar and whisk together.
- If texture is an issue for your family, use blender or immersion blender to blend the sauce until smooth.
Notes
- This recipe is modified from the recipe found at: https://moribyan.com/big-mac-tacos/
- The original recipe calls for 2 TBS of Dijon mustard. I removed it from my recipe due to a mustard allergy and we still love this sauce. Add it back in for extra zip if you desire.
