Easy Allergy-Friendly Christmas Treats – Dairy-Free, a few Top 9
Hi Friends! In this video I share some simple and allergy-friendly treat ideas for the holidays. Some of these are top-9-free and others contain soy and/or wheat. Most are super easy and the ones that are a little more challenging, I share the tips I learned along the way! I hope you enjoy them.
Vegan Whipped Cream (all varieties contain coconut and corn):
For the best results, put your mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer a half hour before you want to make your whipped cream! For every 1 cup of Vegan whipping cream, add 2 TBS of powdered sugar. Whip with a hand or stand mixer until soft peaks form. I found no noticeable difference between the Country Crock Plant Cream and Trader Joe’s new vegan whipping cream. I will use them interchangeably, although right now I can find the Country Crock Plant Cream on sale at some stores saving up to $1.
Oreo truffles inspiration recipe with gluten free modification. All versions contain soy. Beware, some oreo flavors do have other top allergens: https://thefitcookie.com/gluten-free-oreo-truffles-dairy-free/
The variations I made were with traditional mint Oreos with chocolate Sunbutter. We also made Birthday Cake Oreos with Biscoff Cookie butter. Both were SO delicious. I needed a little more of the Sunbutter or cookie butter to make my truffle filling come together. I put in closer to 1/2 a cup, but I would start with 1/4 and add more as necessary. My son thought the Birthday Cake Oreos version was the best thing he has had in awhile. We think all varieties have the best texture being served cold from the fridge. After about an hour at room temperature, they get really soft.

I made these vegan and almost Top-9-free by using Vegan whipping cream and my own dairy-free butter substitute. If you need these soy-free as well, use either Earth’s Balance Soy Free Buttery Sticks or the Good and Gather Vegan butter sticks. For the chocolate, there are so many allergy-friendly chocolate chips available right now. For this recipe, I used Bake-Believe semi sweet and dark chocolate, which are both top 9 free.
Pretzel Cracker Toffee inspiration recipe (I left out the peanuts): https://myincrediblerecipes.com/pretzel-peanut-cracker-toffee/
I substituted dairy-free butter substitute for the real butter in this recipe and dairy-free chocolate chips. While this recipe came out I think as it was supposed to, between our children in braces and personal preference for toffee without chocolate, I won’t be making this one again. I had one kiddo though that ate a little each day until the whole pan was almost gone! Haha. It isn’t bad by any means, but we enjoyed all the others more.
